JINS 317 - Women’s Movement in Intercultural Perspective: The U.S and South Africa This course will trace progress toward gender equality in the U.S. and South Africa, as it is achieved both through grassroots activism and through other types of strategic movement by women to empower themselves. Cultural and economic differences between the two countries and among the women within them will be examined as possible barriers to female solidarity.
Credits: 3 hours NOTE: This course fulfills the Junior Interdisciplinary Writing-Enhanced Seminar and Intercultural Interconnecting Perspectives of the Liberal Studies Program.
