JINS 328 - Exploration and Discovery (template course)

This course is an interdisciplinary analysis of a period of exploration or moment of discovery in human history. Possible topics: The Renaissance Age of Exploration - This course examines the controversies of European expansion from 1200-1600. Students will learn of the benefits and tragic costs associated with the contacts between Europeans and native peoples. Students will do this through studying the period and events, but also in reflecting on travel and exploration in their own lives as well as points where they come in to contact with the “new.”

Credits: 3 hours
