HIST 310 - African-American History A seminar covering major events and trends in African-American history from the beginnings of the slave trade in the New World to the present. The seminar focuses on the role African-Americans have played in the development of American history and culture. The struggle to define freedom and the dynamics of acculturation are treated as central aspects of both African-American and American history.
Prerequisite: Sophomore status or above. Credits: 3 NOTE:
* Honors Scholar Course.
** History major United States History course.
*** This course counts toward the 63-credit Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
