SPAN 101 - Elementary Spanish I Basic grammar structures, together with vocabulary, idioms and accurate pronunciation, are presented and practiced in communicative contexts that mirror Hispanic culture. Emphasis is placed on the development of the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and on expanding cultural awareness. Three classroom hours per week plus one peer learning session and one laboratory hour per week are required.
Credits: 3 NOTE:
* Successful completion of this and SPAN 102 fulfill the Foreign Language Interconnecting Perspective of the Liberal Studies Program.
** This course counts toward the 63-credit Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
