BUS 650G - Accounting for Planning and Control This course introduces cost concepts and cost behavior patterns that affect management decision making. Topics such as cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting and financial forecasting, volume and non-volume cost assignment, relevant cost analysis, and strategic cost management tools such as value-chain analysis and the balanced scorecard are explored. Short case studies are used to illustrate many of the topics. Completion of Financial Reporting and Analysis prior to enrollment is recommended. This course is not open to Business Administration BA/BS, Accounting BS, and Masters of Accounting majors.
