ECON 348 - Economics of East Asia This course surveys economic issues concerning East Asia, covering China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and other economies in the region. The causes of their economic growth and the Asian Crisis is analyzed. Their experiences in the post-crisis period, often in comparison with other emerging markets, is examined. Developments in regional economic integration and challenges facing them are also discussed.
Prerequisite: ECON 200 - Principles of Macroeconomics or ECON 205 - Principles of Economics . Credit(s): 3 Course Attribute(s):
