ECON 348 - Economics of East Asia


This course surveys economic issues concerning East Asia, covering mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and other economies in the region. It examines the region’s experiences in economic development with a focus on its unique culture, history, and economic policies. Economic relations within the region and with other regions are also discussed.

Prerequisite: ECON 200 - Principles of Macroeconomics  or ECON 205 - Principles of Economics .
