CHI 401 - Chile Study Abroad: Globalization and Culture Change This course will give students an on-site immersion into the culture of southern Chile’s Archipelago of Chiloé. Once a semi-isolated rural province, Chiloé today is one of the world’s leading exporters of farmed salmon and a significant draw for tourists. Students will explore this recent cultural and economic shift by participating in homestays with rural families and carrying out participant observation fieldwork.
Prerequisites: SPAN 201 - Intermediate Spanish I or equivalent (equivalency to be determined by course instructor). Credit(s): 4 Course Attribute(s):
