SPAN 400 - Introduction to Spanish Sociolinguistics This course introduces students to the systematic investigation of language variation and change in the Spanish-speaking world as related to the social world. Students will study how factors such as socioeconomic class, gender, age, bilingualism, and geography affect speakers of Spanish.
Prerequisite: SPAN 364 - Spanish Phonetics and Phonology with a grade of ‘C’ or higher. Credit(s): 3
