CHEM 130 - Chemical Principles I Chemical Principles I is an introductory course with lab that focuses on the underlying principles that are common to all chemistry disciplines. Topics covered include: stoichiometry, equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics and simple approaches to bonding (Lewis dot structures and VSPER theory). Note that this course is the first course in the two semester sequence required by most professional schools. Honors Scholar Course for students whose majors do not require CHEM 130, or who choose not to use it to fulfill major requirements.
Credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): Either completion of the Pre-calculus or Calculus STEM Perspective OR or a score on the Mathematics Placement Exam sufficient to be placed in Calculus I.
