SPAN 101 - Elementary Spanish I Basic grammar structures, together with vocabulary, idioms and accurate pronunciation, are presented and practiced in communicative contexts that mirror Hispanic culture. Emphasis is placed on the development of the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and on expanding cultural awareness. Three classroom contact hours plus one peer learning session per week are required. Successful completion of SPAN 101 and the continuing course, SPAN 102, fulfills the Foreign Language Interconnecting Perspective of the Dialogues.
