HIST 3200 - African-American History This course covers major events and trends in African-American history from the beginnings of the slave trade in the New World to the present. The seminar focuses on the role African-Americans have played in the development of US history and culture. The struggle to define freedom and the dynamics of acculturation are treated as central aspects of both African-American and US history.
