THEA 591G - Play Direction

Basic theory, analysis and studio practice in stage direction. Each student directs selected scenes in class, and a brief one-act play for public showcase. Following successful completion of this course, students are then eligible to apply to the Theatre Student Steering Committee to direct a full-length Student Laboratory production for the department. This is a graduate version of an undergraduate course and it requires students to direct a mid-length play for the final project, supported by a long form dramaturgical analysis of the dramatic text.
