CML 610G - Principles of Teaching Language at the Advanced Level This course will draw upon the principles of communicative language teaching and applying research in Second Language Acquisition theory to the language classroom at the intermediate and advanced level, according to ACTFL descriptors. Special emphasis will be placed on teaching literacy skills, literature, culture, critical thinking, and social justice. You will complete a unit plan, including classroom materials and lesson plans, based upon the frameworks of backwards design and integrative performance assessment. Although this course will be conducted in English, it is expected that a significant portion of your work be completed in French, Latin, or Spanish.
