JUST 404 - Crime Prevention: Policy & Practice

This course will familiarize students with evidence-based programs, practices, and policies used to prevent crime. We will discuss how criminological theories and empirical research, which identify the factors and experiences most likely to influence crime, can be used to design interventions that will reduce illegal behaviors. We will review research methods for testing the effectiveness of crime prevention strategies, then identify effective and ineffective interventions which can be implemented in communities and correctional agencies.
