Program Requirements:
The Photography Minor is available to both Art and non-Art majors. The Photography Minor requires successful completion of 15 credits of the following courses: Photography Minor Proficiency
As is the case for other studio art minors, the photography minor requires a minor proficiency. For non-Art majors the requirement is identical to the studio art minor. An Art major who has passed their proficiency into the major can double count that towards their Photography Minor. The reverse does not apply; a successful Photography Minor proficiency does not count as passing proficiency into any major. Public Presentation
Public presentation is a requirement for the minor. Students are required to display a body of photographic work in some public forum including the Ophelia Parrish Atrium space, the Student Research Conference, or elsewhere on campus (not, however, in the University Art Gallery). Note:
The Photography minor is the only Studio Art minor currently possible for BA: Art and BFA: Studio and Visual Communications majors. Only ART 101 - Art Studio Foundations I may double count in the minor. |
