Pursuing an economics minor gives students a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts and issues while diversifying their analytic skill set. Students learn about important theories of demand and pricing as well as the concepts of a market economy that impact fiscal and monetary policies. They also gain an understanding of terminology used to leverage their marketability in any career path students choose.
The knowledge and analytical skills students acquire provide a solid background for a number of career fields:
- banking and finance
- business
- consumer marketing
- engineering
- environmental management
- human resources
- insurance
- international trade
- government service
- law
- and many more
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- At least nine hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University.
- The Economics Minor requires the successful completion of 15 credits.
