Folklore Minor

As an interdisciplinary program, the folklore minor is more than just reading stories. Literature, language, dance, history and fine arts all play a role in understanding folklore and its cultural impact. This minor appeals to a broad range of students because you can deepen your understanding of the cultural aspects of so many different fields.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- At least nine hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University.
- This interdisciplinary minor requires at least 17 credits.
- At least 9 credits must be at the 300 level or above.

Program Requirements:
Students need to satisfy prerequisites wherever they exist and additionally need permission of the Minor Oversight Committee before choosing to use a course marked with two asterisks (**) to fulfill a requirement in the minor.
Required Courses
Students must complete either (a) a folklore-related capstone in their home major, (b) an independent, mentored, folklore capstone project, or (c) a for-credit internship in a folklore-related field.
