Program Requirements:
Of the 16 hours required for this interdisciplinary minor, at least 9 must be at the 300 level or above. Students will need to satisfy prerequisites wherever they exist and will additionally need permission of the Minor Oversight Committee before choosing to use a course marked with two asterisks (**) to fulfill a requirement in the Minor. Required Courses
Students must complete either (a) a folklore-related capstone in their home major, (b) an independent, mentored, folklore capstone project, or (c) a for-credit internship in a folklore-related field.
Students must also complete the following:
- One course from Area I (below): 3 Credit Hours
- Two courses from Areas I, II, or III (below): 6 Credit Hours

Area III – Cultural Product Focus:
Note: Acceptable topics for ENG 498 Senior English Seminar include:
- Midwestern Literature: 4 credit hours
- Body Language: 4 credit hours
- Folklore and Fairy Tales: 4 credit hours
