LING 650G - English Linguistics for the Classroom This graduate level course provides a comprehensive exploration of English linguistics with direct application to classroom instruction. Students will examine the structural components of English—phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics—through both descriptive and prescriptive lenses. Emphasis is placed on language variation, multilingual learners, and the sociopolitical dimensions of English usage in educational contexts.
