AT 618G - Emergency Care Procedures in Athletic Training


Students will learn emergency care procedures through didactic and clinical experience. Students are exposed to evidence based procedures for a variety of emergency situations. The course is designed to introduce students to the NATA guidelines for emergency care procedures based on the current position statements. Students will learn about emergency care and appropriate treatments/care to provide in given situtations. Students learn how to recognize an emergency situation and the appropriate care that is recommended. Emphasis is placed on the evaluation of competencies approved by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Athletic Training Master’s program.
