LING 433 - Semantics and Pragmatics


Introduction to theories of semantics and pragmatics. Intensive practice in the analysis and description of semantic and pragmatic data; approaches to the description and explanation of meaning at different levels of linguistic structure.

Prerequisite: Completion of one of the following with a grade of “C” or higher: LING 315 - Structure and History of Romance Languages , LING 318 - Structure and History of English , LING 319 - Structure and History of a Language or Language Family .
Credits: 4
