ITAL 324 - Italian Civilization I A survey course designed to bring students to a better understanding of Italy and Italian culture and civilization. The approach is to view each topic in its cultural and historical context, moving chronologically from ancient times and finishing with the Renaissance. Topics such as: Pre-Roman civilization; cooking traditions and wine; Dante and the Middle Ages; Renaissance Humanism in art and philosophy; Machiavelli; and theater are studied. Taught in English.
