NU 351 - Adult Health Nursing II


This course continues to build upon the adult health/medical-surgical nursing concepts begun in NU 350 . Students will continue to focus on nursing practice with adults, including the gerontological population, experiencing acute or chronic health alterations in a variety of acute care settings. Students have opportunities to utilize the nursing process and clinical reasoning to plan safe, evidence-based nursing care. Students will have experiences that help integrate content of previous nursing courses and related sciences to plan care that will focus on patient needs. Health promotion, illness prevention, disease management, and patient education are emphasized throughout the course. Students will utilize the nursing process and the Science of Human Care Nursing to apply didactic material through a variety of clinical learning experiences. This course must be taken concurrently with NU 351C - Adult Health Nursing II Clinical .

Prerequisites: NU 350 - Adult Health Nursing I , NU 350C - Adult Health Nursing I Clinical , NU 350L - Adult Health Nursing I Lab  , and Junior status in nursing.

Corequisite: NU 351C - Adult Health Nursing II Clinical
