CRWT 411 - Writing Workshop: Screenwriting


This intensive writing class introduces the fundamentals of screenwriting including narrative structure, character development, and dialogue. Through class discussions, readings, writing assignments, and the analysis of produced screenplays, students will engage with the creative challenges and possibilities of professional screenwriting.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of CRWT 204 - Creative Writing  with a grade of “B” or better AND successful completion of CRWT 355 - Introduction to Literary Genres: Poetry CRWT 356 - Introduction to Literary Genres: The Novel CRWT 357 - Introduction to Literary Genres: The Short Story , OR CRWT 358 - Introduction to Literary Genres: Nonfiction  with a grade of “C” or better.

Prerequisite or Co-requisite: Successful completion of ENG 280 - Film Form and Sense  with a grade of “C” or better.
