BIOL 370 - Introduction to Bioinformatics A hands-on, project-oriented interdisciplinary introduction to molecular bioinformatics. The course defines bioinformatics as the science of examining the structure, function, and evolution of biological molecules (especially genes and proteins) through the use of computational analysis, statistics, visualization, and pattern recognition. Prior experience of coursework in computer programming is strongly recommended. Cross-listed as CS 325 - Introduction to Bioinformatics .
Prerequisites: BIOL 300 - Genetics OR CS 310 - Data Structures and Algorithms .
