ENG 516 - Studies in Literary Genres Study of representative works of a given genre from a variety of periods and national origins, with attention to the theoretical questions raised by any system of literary classification.
Prerequisite: ENG 230 - Introduction to English: Engaging with Critical Communities OR ENG 355 - Introduction to Literary Genres: Poetry OR ENG 356 - Introduction to Literary Genres: The Novel OR ENG 357 - Introduction to Literary Genres: The Short Story OR ENG 358 - Introduction to Literary Genres: Nonfiction with a grade of “C” or higher OR permission of the instructor AND advanced undergraduate standing.
