MUSI 212 - Music Therapy Practicum

Students will practically implement the music therapy process through planning and delivering one 50-minute music therapy session with a special population at a clinical training site. Students will be assigned this clinical training site by the university supervisor. These sessions could be delivered face to face or by online telehealth format. Since this practicum course will be repeated five different semesters throughout the degree sequence, students will receive a different population and site each semester the course is taken (i.e. older adults, early intervention, palliative/hospice, mental health, substance abuse, ID/DD, hospital, physical rehabilitation, etc.) so that practicum experiences are diverse.
