NU 100 - Introduction to Nursing Seminar

This introductory seminar will introduce students to the discipline of nursing. Content focuses on increasing students’ knowledge of the past, present, and future of the profession of nursing. Topics discussed include the following areas: historical evolution of nursing; definition, scope, and uniqueness of the nursing discipline; nursing licensure; ethics; values; educational routes; professionalism; and the impact of informatics. Fall semester is reserved for accepted nursing majors.
