POL 325 - U.S. Political Institutions: Structure, History and Evolution An advanced course in the history and evolution of U.S. political institutions. It provides close examination of the history and evolution of the three branches of government, federalism, and state and local governance. The course gives specialized attention to the structure, function, change, and impact of these institutions over time. It also examines the relationship among these institutions. By analyzing constitutional foundations, court cases, major legislation, executive actions, custom and practice, students will increase their ability to study and to understand the U.S. government and to impact it and society.
