NU 210 - Pharmacotherapeutics I The course focuses on basic principles of pharmacology with emphasis on drug classification, drug action, adverse/side effects, nursing implications and patient education. Special consideration for clinical application of drug therapy using the nursing process as well as integration of content relevant to culture/ethnicity, dosage calculation, laboratory values, and basic pathophysiology are included. This course is restricted to nursing majors only.
Credit(s): 2 Prerequisite(s): (CHEM 100 - Chemistry for Contemporary Living or CHEM 130 - Chemical Principles I ) AND prerequisite or co-requisite BIOL 353 - Pathophysiology with a grade of “C” or higher.
