HLTH 366 - Program Assessment and Planning


In addition to an overview of the theories and models of community health/individual and population health, the course will explore issues pertinent to the community health educator: core public health functions (assessment, policy development, assurance), community health assessment/mobilization/promotion, culturally competent health promotion, health education programming in the community setting, and legislative advocacy/grant writing for health education issues. This course includes an integrated service learning component.

Prerequisites: HLTH 349 and health science major.
Credits: 3 hours
