HIST 372 - Women in Sub-Saharan Africa The African continent is not a monolithic entity but consists of complex and intriguing societies. Understanding women’s economic, social, and political roles is therefore essential for a complete understanding of these societies. This course is designed to introduce students to the varying experiences of women in Sub-Saharan Africa from the 18th through the 20th Centuries.
Credits: 3 hours NOTE: General Honors Course.
NOTE: This course fulfills the Intercultural Interconnecting Perspective of the Liberal Studies Program.
NOTE: History major African and Middle Eastern History course.
NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
