COUN 666G - Human Growth and Development

This class will provide an understanding of the nature and need of individuals at all developmental levels, including all of the following: ethical and legal considerations as they related to different developmental issues; theories of individual and family development and transitions across the lifespan including theories of learning and personality development; an understanding of developmental crises, disability, exceptional behavior, addictive behavior, psychopathology, and situational and environmental factors that affect both normal and abnormal behavior; and strategies for facilitating optimum development over the lifespan.

Prerequisite: Admission to the Counseling program.
