MUSI 339 - Music Literature Western European art music of the common practice period (c. 1600-1900). The course is organized according to different musical genres (symphony, concerto, chamber music, Lieder, and keyboard literature) and places an emphasis upon understanding and recognizing musical styles within an historical context. Music major Music Theory, Literature, and History course.
Prerequisites: MUSI 131 and MUSI 133. Credits: 3 hours NOTE: Honors Scholar Course.
NOTE: This course fulfills the Aesthetic: Fine Arts Mode of Inquiry of the Liberal Studies Program.
NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
