French Minor for the Professions

The French Minor for the Professions is designed to provide students with the basic language skills necessary for working in a variety of contexts in which proficiency in French is required. The minor consists of two required language courses; two courses from the French for the Professions strand; and one elective course.
In addition, students for this minor must take one of the certification exams offered by the Chamber of Commerce et Industry of Paris (CCIF). By passing the exam, the student will earn the Diplôma de Français Professionnel (Professional French Certificate) in one of the specialty areas. When students complete the exam, the French faculty will notify the Registrar’s Office.

Required:
Must take one CCIP French for the Professions exam in Business, Tourism, or International Relations.
Note:
- No grade of “D” accepted toward the French Minor for the Professions.
- A maximum of two courses may double count for this minor and the Modern Language: French major.
