The Education Minor consists of 17 hours of courses. The minor is designed for students interested in pursuing a Masters of Arts in Education degree at Truman as well as for students interested in working in the field of education in nontraditional settings such as zoos and/or museums. The minor includes core undergraduate courses required by the Missouri Department of Secondary and Elementary Education for certification, but does not by itself lead to certification because the state has additional requirements.
Required Courses (14 Credits):
Education Minor Electives (3 Credits):
In addition to the requirements listed above, students choose a total of at least 3 credit hours from the list below. The list contains existing courses that address issues in Education and are designed to match students’ future teaching interests. The courses listed under each area are required by the State of Missouri for teacher certification in that area or for admission to graduate education programs.
