Laboratory Plant Care Micro-credential

This combination of courses provides students with a foundation in cultivation and management of plant specimens and how to manage soil resources.

A 2.00 GPA in micro-credential requirements.
At least nine hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University.
The successful completion of all courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better.

The Laboratory Plant Care Micro-credential requires completion of the following coursework:

AGSC 110 - Principles of Plant Agriculture Credit(s): 4
AGSC 218 - Introduction to Horticulture Credit(s): 4
AGSC 314 - Principles of Soil Science Credit(s): 4
BIOL 391 - Internship for Biology Majors I Credit(s): 1 to 12 and BIOL 392 - Evaluation and Analysis of Internship I Credit(s): 1
*3 credit hours of appropriate (greenhouse, botanical garden, plant nursery) internal or external BIOL or CANM internship (2 hrs of internship; 1 hr analysis). Biology department chair approval is required to count an internship towards a micro-credential.
