Classical Studies Minor

Program Requirements:

The interdisciplinary Classical Studies Minor requires the successful completion of 15-17 credits of the following courses. At least two courses (6 credits) at the intermediate level or higher in either the Greek or Latin language sequence; and at least two courses (6-8 credits) at any level in the other language sequence; plus one of the following courses: 

• Additional course from higher-level Greek or Latin language courses.

• CLAS 262 - Roman Literature in Translation Credits: 3
• CLAS 361 - Greek and Roman Mythology Credits: 3
• CLAS 362 - Classical Civilization Credits: 3
• CLAS 363 - Women and Gender in Antiquity Credits: 3
• COMM 390 - Classical Rhetoric Credits: 3
• GRE 300 - Sacred Sites in Greece Credits: 6 (counts as 1 course; 3 additional credits may be used elsewhere)
• GRE 301 - The Sacred Feminine: Goddesses and Mortal Women in Ancient Greece Credits: 3
• HIST 342 - Ancient Greece Credits: 3
• HIST 343 - Ancient Rome Credits: 3
• PHRE 336 - History of Philosophy I: Ancient Philosophy Credits: 3

Note:

No grade of “D” is accepted toward the Classical Studies Minor.
