The Department of Health and Exercise Sciences (HES) offers a Minor in Health Studies. The intent of the Health Studies Minor is to allow exploration in topics related to human health and well-being. This minor may enhance personal growth and/or be related to interest areas after graduation.

Program Requirements:

The Health Studies Minor requires the successful completion of the following 16 credits:

ES 205 - First Aid and CPR Credits: 2
OR HLTH 160 - Essentials of Stress Management Credits: 2
HLTH 150 - Nutrition in Health and Wellness Credits: 3
HLTH 195 - Lifetime Health and Fitness Credits: 1.5
HLTH 196 - Lifetime Physical Activities Credits: 0.5
HLTH 240 - Issues in Consumer Health Credits: 3
OR HLTH 270 - Consumer Health Credits: 3
HLTH 245 - Substance Abuse Prevention Credits: 3
OR HLTH 265 - Drugs in Society Credits: 3
HLTH 362 - Environmental Health Credits: 3

Note:

A grade of “C” or higher must be achieved in all courses applicable to the Health Studies Minor.
