HLTH 330 - Community Nutrition for Special Populations This course aids in the development of a basic foundation of knowledge and skills from which to apply the principles of community nutrition to various constituencies (elderly populations, children, impoverished populations, women, people with diabetes, etc.). As part of the integrated service learning component, course information is applied to aid in students’ understanding of local program planning, policies, resources, and nutrition issues specific to community nutrition for various populations. This course also presents material relevant to solving community nutritional and health problems, including program delivery, nutrition education, nutrition assessment, and planning nutrition interventions.
Prerequisites: Grade of ‘C’ or better in HLTH 150 - Nutrition in Health and Wellness , ES 245 - Nutrition for Health, Fitness, and Sport , or NU 311 - Human Nutrition ; and Health Science, Exercise Science or Athletic Training major. Credit(s): 3
