JINS 375 - Weird Science A study of the fringes of science which highlights the role of criticism in attaining reliable knowledge. The course surveys claims made on behalf of creationism, parapsychology and UFOlogy, together with mainstream scientific responses. In the process, students will explore questions about the nature and boundaries of science.
Prerequisite: Junior status. Credits: 3 hours NOTE: This course fulfills the Junior Interdisciplinary Writing-Enhanced Seminar Interconnecting Perspective of the Liberal Studies Program.
NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
