CHEM 120 - Chemical Principles I An introductory course with lab focusing on the underlying principles that are common to all chemistry disciplines. Topics covered include: stoichiometry, equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics and applications of these principles to acid/base and precipitation reactions.
Prerequisite: MATH 156 or higher math placement. Credits: 5 hours When Offered: (offered fall, spring, summer) NOTE: General Honors Course for students whose majors do not require CHEM 120 or CHEM 100.
NOTE: This course fulfills the Scientific: Physical Science Mode of Inquiry of the Liberal Studies Program.
NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
