HIST 334 - Introduction to Public History This seminar will seek to enable students to answer the question “What is public history?” Students will examine the way the field has been shaped by past precedent, cultural trends, and the dialogue public historians have with both academic historians and a diverse public. Special emphasis will be on the relationship between local history and the new social history.
Prerequisite: sophomore standing or above. Credits: 3 hours NOTE: General Honors Course.
NOTE: History major United States History course.
NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
