CMDS 460 - Language Development


Study of typical language development in children from birth to adolescence. Theories of language development and placing language in the context of motor, cognitive, and social development. Language observation and linguistic analysis techniques; comparison of Standard American English to major social dialects. Relationship between language development and literacy.

Prerequisites: CMDS 200 and 261. CMDS majors only.
