Program Requirements:

The Russian Studies Minor requires the successful completion of 18 semester hours of the following courses:

RUSS 315 - Advanced Russian I Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 316 - Advanced Russian II Credits: 3 hours

Select the remaining 12 hours from the two areas below

Students must take a minimum of one course from EACH of the two areas.

Area I – Language and Literature

RUSS 325 - Russian and Soviet Cinema Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 340 - Russian Drama Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 350 - Russian Culture Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 370 - Survey of Russian Literature I Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 371 - Survey of Russian Literature II Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 415 - Fourth Year Russian I Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 416 - Fourth Year Russian II Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 420 - The Modern Russian Novel Credits: 3 hours
RUSS 480 - Major Russian Writers Credits: 3 hours

Area II – Social Science

HIST 381 - Russia from the Earliest Times until 1861 Credits: 3 hours
HIST 382 - Late Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union Credits: 3 hours
HIST 383 - Topics in Russian and Soviet History Credits: 3 hours

Note:

No grade of “D” will be accepted toward the Russian Studies minor.
