JINS 325 - Rural America This course explores ways of conceptualizing and defining “rural,” describes the geographic, social, economic, and political characteristics found in rural places, and discusses the implications of using alternative perspectives. Beyond this common introduction, specific sections of the course examine in more detail selected contemporary issues relevant to rural people and places.
Prerequisite: Junior status. Credits: 3 NOTE:
* This course fulfills the Junior Interdisciplinary Writing-Enhanced Seminar Interconnecting Perspective of the Liberal Studies Program.
** This course counts toward the 63-credit Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
