ENG 434 - Queer Theory The study of representations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people in the arts, humanities, and critical theory. In juxtaposing traditional categories and canons with the perspectives of people marginalized as “queer,” the course explores how knowledge is constructed and norms are established.
Prerequisite: ENG 209 - Applying Literary Theory with a grade of “C” or higher or permission of the instructor AND advanced undergraduate standing. Credits: 4
