SED 530 - Psychology of the Exceptional Child


Psychology of Exceptional Children addresses characteristics of the 13 federally recognized categories of exceptionality, and how these are encountered in schools and among learners. Included are resources of legally and ethically working with these students and their families in a range of school-based placements. Central to the course are the programming implications of students from culturally diverse backgrounds. This course also includes coverage of such legislatively mandated content as Gifted, Dyslexia, and Trauma-Informed Schools.
