Musical Theatre Minor

The Department of Communication and Theatre Arts and the Department of Music offer an interdisciplinary minor grounded in the performing arts of acting, music and dance. This minor can be paired with any major to realize students personal and professional goals. Participation in Truman musicals and operas provides practical experience to support classroom instruction. Training and experience in musical theatre supports multiple career paths including: professional theatre performer, musical theatre choreographer and musical director, and, when paired with Truman’s MAE, high school educator in Theatre.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A 2.00 GPA in minor requirements.
- At least nine hours of the program requirements must be completed at Truman State University.
- A minimum of 18 credits.
- Courses indicated by two asterisks cannot be used for Musical Theatre Minor if also being used for Theatre Minor.

Program Requirements (18-22 Credits):
The Musical Theatre Minor requires the successful completion of 18 credits of the following courses. 2 credits or more from the following (Voice):
